Burr Tillstrom. 2012. Oil on Panel. It is not an exaggeration to say that Tillstrom invented children's television programming in the late 40's. He was a self taught puppeteer who developed a show on early Chicago Television which was relevant to adults and children. It was high brow and low brow to appeal to the kids and their parents; same format the Simpson's now use.

John Belushi. 2011. Oil on Panel. Took his place in the historical line of slapstick comedians such as Jerome Howard and Bud Costello. Belushi was smarter then he let on; but still got himself put into movie roles that really didn't work, like 1941; and he couldn't resist the drugs. His period of fame after SNL was only about 18 months. Belushi was the cool buffoon, like Harpo Marx.
