Garfield Goose.  2014. Most Chicagoans of a certain age keep a special place in their  heart for Garfield Goose.  Garfield was developed and manipulated by Roy Brown. Brown would have Garfield get under the skin of parental figure Frazier Thomas - whom  Brown disliked in real life.

Burr Tillstrom. 2012. It is not an exaggeration to say that Tillstrom invented children's  television programming in the late 40's. He was a self taught puppeteer who developed a show - relevant to adults and children - on early Chicago Television. It was high brow and low brow to appeal to the kids and their parents; same format the Simpson's now use.

Wally Phillips. 2012. Represented Chicago before everything changed. Talked about common subjects with working class people – it was a true community. Phillips could quickly get your question answered by asking his listeners for help - now there is the internet.

John Belushi. 2011. Took his place in the historical line of slapstick comedians such as Jerome Howard and Bud Costello. Belushi was smarter then he let on; but still got himself put into movie roles that really didn't work, like 1941; and he couldn't resist the drugs. His period of fame after SNL was only about 18 months. Belushi was the cool buffoon, like Harpo Marx.

Walt Disney. 2012. Well this guy was a genius. He was beyond an average genius. He was a visionary who not only invented theme parks, modern animation and anamatons, but he also developed entirely new production processes to keep up with his advanced ideas.
